I'm a science teacher and he blew me away. His level of expertise about anatomy and physiology far surpasses what I ever learned in my university classes. He makes workouts fun and has even become a good friend. I've learned a lot. The price is right and the gym is located high in the hills with a gorgeous view of San Jose. I have serious sciatica and health issues and I'm already stronger and pain free after just a month. I hated working out before and now I look forward to going. This place is legit. Dead serious, I wish I could give 6 stars. read less

I actually enjoy working out now that I understand what I'm doing. Turns out there is more to fitness than just jogging and doing some curls. I've struggled with pain in my knees and shoulders for a decade. Wes taught me about tension release and proper lifting techniques. When l began, my rule was simple: "Do Not Kill me." I was diagnosed with tendinitis, Carpal Tunnel and anything that can be diagnosed for my hands, l had it on both hands! I had a lot of restrictions that made Wes's job as my personal trainer very difficult. Wes started by trying to understand what was the cause of my issues. He introduced me to rolling on foam roller- when l started l was so tight that l really wished l could use pain killers before working out...gradually l improved that I am almost normal. Wes understands a lot of medical diagnosis, if he doesn't know or understand, he'll do research to help him to help his customers out. I am lucky to have him for a personal trainer! He's very knowledgeable and focused, and emphasizes correct form while training to my goals of hypertrophy, increased flexibility, and all-around physical performance. I trained with Wes for 8 months at 24 Hour Fitness and learned a lot from him. When we first started, I was inexperienced, had never attempted any heavy compound lifts, and generally didn't enjoy lifting weights because I didn't know what I was doing. He changed that by explaining the mechanics of each lift - which muscle groups should be activated and how correct form should look and feel. I have a technical mind and want to understand what I'm doing and why, and he never failed to give a good explanation. He also did a good job of keeping me motivated without being at all obnoxious about it. We would chat between sets or talk about the training, but he stayed focus and made good use of outlet time. After a few months of training twice a week, I had learned enough to do most of my training on my own with a weekly checkup to work on any difficulties. I highly recommend training with Wes, and was sad to hear that he was leaving 24. read less

He is such a versatile and flexible trainer who is willing to hear you out on whatever fitness goals you have. For me, I had the goal of deadlifting over 135lbs last year and felt like it was impossible. Wes helped me out with my deadlift form and made sure I got the right biomechanics down with each movement. Because of Wes's sharp and keen eye, my deadlift form became pristine in which i was able to deadlift over 200lbs within a span of 3-4 months.
Wes is definitely full of wisdom and knowledge and will answer questions to the best of his ability from what he's learned. But none of them really focused on your progression. Wesley has a firm understanding of the biomechanical reasons for why a particularly movement causes pain, but even better, he's able to convey his expertise in a learnable format that leaves me yearning for 10 more minutes each session. If you want someone who will work with you to make you find out why you're weak before you figure out how to get stronger, then spend the time to work with Wesley at least once! read less
