He's very knowledgeable and focused, and emphasizes correct form while training to my goals of hypertrophy, increased flexibility, and all-around physical performance. I trained with Wes for 8 months at 24 Hour Fitness and learned a lot from him. When we first started, I was inexperienced, had never attempted any heavy compound lifts, and generally didn't enjoy lifting weights because I didn't know what I was doing. He changed that by explaining the mechanics of each lift - which muscle groups should be activated and how correct form should look and feel. I have a technical mind and want to understand what I'm doing and why, and he never failed to give a good explanation. He also did a good job of keeping me motivated without being at all obnoxious about it. We would chat between sets or talk about the training, but he stayed focus and made good use of outlet time. After a few months of training twice a week, I had learned enough to do most of my training on my own with a weekly checkup to work on any difficulties. I highly recommend training with Wes, and was sad to hear that he was leaving 24. read less

Wesley is extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and dedicated. I loved the location- amazing views and farm animal sounds while working out and Wesley is always adding more amazing touches and equipment to his gym. Highly recommend!! I left the Bay Area but plan to come back to pop in for a work out every time I visit San Jose! read less

He is such a versatile and flexible trainer who is willing to hear you out on whatever fitness goals you have. For me, I had the goal of deadlifting over 135lbs last year and felt like it was impossible. Wes helped me out with my deadlift form and made sure I got the right biomechanics down with each movement. Because of Wes's sharp and keen eye, my deadlift form became pristine in which i was able to deadlift over 200lbs within a span of 3-4 months.
Wes is definitely full of wisdom and knowledge and will answer questions to the best of his ability from what he's learned. He's definitely an honest guy who will help you, not only fitness related things, but will definitely give good conversations about anything! read less

I appreciate that he tracks actual metrics and numbers to make sure you are on track to reach your goals. I'm always impressed at how observant he is when watching form. He always seems to pick up on tiny details in how I'm performing exercises and uses this to improve form and identify other areas for improvement. I highly recommend training with Wes! read less

I told him I was not... read moreI first met Wes when he was working as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. He randomly approached me about personal training when I was checking in at the front desk. I told him I was not interested and that no one would motivate me more to go to the gym than myself. As I walked away ... he continued to convince me to give it shot and try a free consultation which included weight/body fat measurements, several exercises to determine fitness level, and a discussion of fitness goals.
I knew I was unfit when I met him, but he made me realize how bad it really was. I was at my worst weight gain of my life at 155 pounds. As skeptical as I was with having a personal trainer, I signed up for 20 sessions of personal training with Wes. You probably think Wes pressured me or was a super aggressive salesperson to get me to sign up... you're WRONG! It was his honest feedback about my health and his genuine desire to help me be in a better state of health.
Flash forward, I have been training with Wes for four years now and I cannot express how much I love Wes. Over the years I have known him, I am always incredibly impressed by the wealth of knowledge he has on exercise, muscle groups, diet, stretching, etc. I can ask him anything and he always has a very scientific, thorough explanation for me every time! Wes' dedication to his work can be seen by his constant adjustments to my posture/form when we complete any exercise. He constantly pushes me to do more reps or more weight than I think that I can achieve. Not only is Wes great at building my strength and flexibility, he also addresses many of my aches/pains/knots throughout my body with stretching, rolling, and massages.
From strangers, to personal trainer, to one of my closest friends who I love and trust. Wes doesn't sugar coat anything or act like a drill sergeant that pushes you till you throw up. He's calm, understanding, and constantly finds ways to help me overcome my struggles (especially w/ food)! He has helped me accomplish more than I could hope for and I am so incredibly happy to have met him. Being someone who is so skeptical about personal training, I am happy to have met Wes 4 years ago. If you are someone who thinks personal training is a "waste of time" or it's "not for you"... give Wes a try! I have convinced 3 of my coworkers to train with him and they are all so happy with the introduction and the results they have seen with him. Wes is the only one I kept cos he cares about my progress, helped me to build a food intake and nutrition tracking behavior. He is not those who uses the same routine for everybody. He helped me to build up my routine custom for my situation and needs. He started me with a lighter load so I don't get burned out and deflated after working out, slowly I started to enjoy working out. Recently I moved to some 60 miles away but I still kept my Sunday routine with Wes! read less
